store your kids' seasonal toys in self storage

Having kids comes with having a lot of stuff. Your kids probably have a bunch of toys and equipment that they use during each season. Maybe there is a pile of sleds in the garage for winter fun and a pile of inflatables and rafts for fun in the summer. You know, you don't have to trip over all of your kids seasonal toys all year long. You can use a self storage unit to store the things that are only used during certain seasons. My site will help you prepare the items for storage so that they remain in good condition so they can be used next year.

Four Frugal Uses For Plastic Storage Containers

Have you recently moved and have a lot of plastic storage bins lying around after unpacking everything? Are you hesitant to throw these containers away, though, because you don't want to let them go to waste? If so, you may want to consider re-purposing some of these containers. There are many different and unique things that you can make with plastic storage containers to add an interesting flair to your new home after moving in, including:

1. An End Table

If you have the tall, wheeled plastic storage containers with the slide-out drawers, you can cover them with fabric and then turn them into an end table. You may have to attach wood to the sides of them before you add the fabric just so that you can give them more durability, but overall, if you are in need of new bedroom or living room furniture, one of these storage containers is sure to be the best ways for you to create that furniture on your own.

2. A Litter Box

Is your cat finicky about its litter box? Does it refuse to use a box that is smaller than one specific size? If so, then you may want to consider using a plastic storage container to make the cat a custom litter box. Depending on the build of the container, you can either cut a hole in the side of it to give the cat an entrance and still have privacy, or you can just leave the top off of it and fill it with kitty litter. Either way, your cat is sure to take to this box right away and enjoy using it due to the large size of the container, as this provides the cat with plenty of room to move around, dig, and more.

3. A Cute Hamper

You can take the lid off a plastic storage container and then line it with fabric all the way around the outside and on the inside. When you do this, it will look like a cute storage basket or clothes hamper. You can then use this to throw your dirty clothes in, and you can even use it as a means of transporting the dirty clothes from your bedroom to the washer and dryer. Then when you are finished cleaning the clothes, you can put them back in the basket and transport it back into the bedroom.

4. Pet Beds

Kitty litter boxes were already mentioned, but another way that you can reuse plastic storage containers is by turning them into beds for your pet. All you need to do is measure your pet to determine how large, small, or long they are, and then cut the container down to size, leaving plenty of room for your pet to curl up into a ball or move around as needed. Cut it so that it is basically just an open shelf-like object with high walls on either side, but make sure that both the front and back of the bed are open. Then, line the whole thing with fabric so that your pet won't hurt itself on the plastic, and on the inside bottom of the container, create a padded cushion for comfort. This way, your pet will be able to sleep soundly and comfortably.

Finding unique and interesting ways to re-purpose all those plastic storage containers left over after a move can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be impossible. If you are interested in making one of the four projects mentioned above, then go ahead and give it a try. You are sure to be amazed at how it turns out and the convenience that it will offer you.
